All patients are referred to us through their GP or another hospital consultant. Once we receive a referral, our multidisciplinary team reviews your case and you will be given an appointment within the appropriate timeframe based on clinical urgency. Urgent suspected cancer referrals are typically seen within two weeks.

Treatment and Appointments
Understanding the treatment process and what to expect during your visits.
What should I expect during chemotherapy?
Chemotherapy is administered in our purpose-built day unit by specialist chemotherapy nurses. Treatments may last from 30 minutes to several hours depending on your regimen. We provide a comfortable environment with refreshments and entertainment. Our nursing team will explain every step and monitor you throughout.
How does radiotherapy planning work?
Before starting radiotherapy, you will attend a planning appointment where our radiographers use advanced imaging to precisely target the treatment area. Small tattoos or marks may be placed on your skin to ensure accuracy. Treatment typically involves daily sessions Monday to Friday for two to six weeks.
Travel and Accommodation
If you need to travel from further afield for treatment, we can help arrange hospital transport or accommodation near the centre. Patients undergoing daily radiotherapy may qualify for the Sussex Patient Transport Scheme.
We partner with nearby hotels that offer discounted rates for patients and their families. Speak to our patient liaison team for more information and to arrange support during your treatment period.
